Gibson Guitar was a proud brand partner of the recent December Sessions, held at London’s O2 Arena in North Greenwich between December 3-22.

December Sessions featured more than 100 up and coming acts of all genres, playing live over 20 nights. Each night saw five bands take to a specially constructed stage in The O2 Arena complex. With an audience of thousands passing through the arena, December Sessions provided new acts with a fantastic opportunity to play to a large audience.

Some of the most hotly tipped acts of 2012 who performed at December Sessions include Nikki Garnett, I Am Harlequin, The Sea and I, Belakiss, Tree Top Flyers (who recently won the Glastonbury Emerging Talent competition) and Son of Jack (who were fresh from touring with Chrissie Hynde).

As well as the live music, there was plenty on offer for fans to experience at December Sessions which included The British Music Experience Tour Bus and a display of new Gibson USA guitar models for fans to try out. These included a Gibson Les Paul Classic Plus, a Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom, a Gibson SG Standard Ltd and the Gibson Krist Novoselic RD Bass.

On one of the nights, a silent gig headlined by multiplatinum-selling band The Feeling (presented by Sennheiser) caught the imagination of the audience. The night involved an audio, visual and sensory stimulation designed to give a truly unique and interactive event experience. The silent gig allowed guests to choose their own listening level and mix for the performance, delivering the audio via headphones with virtually no external sound. Fans were also able to experience the new Gibson Firebird X guitar system that was demonstrated onstage by a Gibson product specialist.
